Comments:
This was our second visit to the Lookout Deck at the Hout Bay Harbour. Our first visit wasn't much of a success, so we were hoping our second visit would be better.

We went for lunch on Fathers Day. It was naturally very busy. We didn't have a reservation, so we were surprised at how accommodating they were to find us a table.

There are both tables inside and outside on the enclosed deck. We opted to sit inside. We ordered the calamari basket and the crumbed prawn basket.

We were surprised that our meals arrived so quickly. The prawns were accompanied by chips and a sweet chili sauce. The calamari came with chips and tartar sauce. The prawns were incredibly tasty. Unfortunately the calamari was like leather and very unpleasant. This is the same problem we had with the Lookout Deck on our previous visit. So we have to presume this is the way it's always prepared. We definitely won't be ordering calamari from them again.

Service was average.

The restaurant has a nice feel, although clearly needs some TLC. Especially the dirty chairs. Our tablecloth was also quite dirty.

Besides that, we will return and try something different on the menu

Verdict:
Will we return? Yes

We each had the special which was R99 for 1kg of prawns. The prawns weren't nice at all.
