Comments:
We've driven past Rafikis 10000 times.  We finally stopped by.  We arrived a little earlier than they officially opened (couldn't find opening times anywhere on the net).  They allowed us to take a seat on the balcony outside. Understanding that we would wait until they officially opened before ordering.

We were rather surprised at how filthy it was outside.  Looked like they had had a wild party the night before.  We had to ask our watron to clean our table.

We decided to try a few of their menu items.  It took 45 minutes to receive our first item.  Our watron seemed incredibly flustered and was running around. (Even though we were the only customers).

Chilli poppers R9.50 (each)
"Stuffed jalapenos jam-packed with feta and mozzarella, Crumbed and deep-fried to perfection."

Verdict:  The chilli popper was medium in size.  The outside crumbed batter was very dark and overly fried.  The inside chilli tasted raw.  Like the oil they fried it in was too hot.  Not at all enjoyable.  Very expensive at R9.50 for a single medium sized chilli popper.  When I asked the watron how big the chilli popper was, she said sometimes small, sometimes big.  Great answer.

8 battered prawns R29.50
"Deep fried until crunchy and served with Thai sweet chilli"

Verdict: The prawns were small but fairly good taste with the sweet chilli sauce.

Buffalo wings R29.50
"Crispy bbq buffalo wings served with a sour cream dip"

Verdict: Our wings came with the same Thai sweet chilli sauce as the prawns.  The wings were severely overcooked .  I thought the outside would be crispy but it turned out that the whole chicken wing was crispy as it was completely over-fried.  Very sad.

Breakfast Burrito
The breakfast burrito sounded good, so we decided to give it a try.  Burrito arrived ice cold and had to be sent back.  When it came to the table, I noticed it was not actually the same Burrito, it had been remade.  I was rather disappointed with the flavour.

Overall, an extremely disappointing experience.  We won't be quick to revisit Rafikis.  Pity, really.

Verdict:
Will we return? Undecided
Would we recommend? Undecided
