| We arrived early (6pm) and the restaurant was empty. We had our choice of tables.
Staff were hurrying around and were extremely noisy. They seemed to forget that we were there. Eventually took our order.
We ordered the Spaghetti Bolognaise they had on special for R45.00 and the Fettuccine Amatriciana for R63.00.
The Fettuccine Amatriciana was average tasting but the Spaghetti Bolognaise was downright terrible. The Spaghetti was very undercooked and the Bolognaise sauce was very unappealing.
Once our meal was finally served, our waiter disappeared. No one bothered to ask how the meal was until long after we were finished. We eventually had to get up and walk over to the counter to ask for our bill.
The restaurant does have an authentic feel about it. Antonio Nero apparently sings each evening.
Although I'm sure some people will enjoy this, I found it a little uncomfortable.
We found the prices rather expensive, the service was terrible and the quality of the food very below average.
Our experience was so bad that our first instinct would be not to go back to Luigi's but we have decided to give them a second chance. |
