Verdict: Rump steak ordered medium, arrived well done and very dry. Besides the basting they use, the steak was tasteless. Very disappointed. Chips were starchy and very unpleasant. Had to rely on tomato sauce to get through the meal.
The meal arrived quite quickly but no one came to ask how things were.
When it was time to decide which gelato we wanted, we got up to order it. When we arrived back at our table, the whole table had been cleared. Even though we had not finished our cooldrinks. When we told the waitress, she apologised and asked us if we wanted another can. We said yes. She brought over another can and told us we could only have half the can, they were going to use the other half for floats. Pardon?? Half a can? Thanks so much!
I can't say we enjoyed the gelato all that much.
Bar One Gelato: Ok but not outstanding.
Chocolate Brownie Gelato: Very rich and bitter. We didn't enjoy it too much.
At R20 per scoop, I feel their gelato is way overpriced.
Overall, very disappointed with both the service and the food. We were surprised, as we'd been very keen to try this restaurant. |
